Welcome to the Team, Heather & Sam!

APPTA is excited to welcome two new members to our team—Heather Higgins and Samuel Hunter.

Heather recently joined us as the Coordinator, Policy & Knowledge Exchange. After completing her BA, Psychology at Dalhousie University, Heather worked at the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB as part of the health promotion team. Moving on to pursue her Master’s  in Applied Health Services degree (in progress), Heather focused her research on a meaningful policy-driven issue with the intent to inform future evidence-based policy.

Samuel joins our team as a Research Assistant. He is a recent graduate of the University of Ottawa (BSc), and has had previous work experience both in a clinical research setting with Horizon Health Network, and policy driven research work with WorkSafeNB.  He is excited to research policy-oriented options that will be able to assist the aging population with quality of life and aging-in-place.
